Pulmonary Fibrosis CT Findings
- Irregular thickening of septa
- Dilation of proximal airways (traction bronchiectasis)
- Honeycombing
- Ground-glass opacity

Other Information About Pulmonary Fibrosis
Etiology:
- Long-term exposure to toxins
- Radiation therapy
- Chemotherapy
- Smoking
- Medicines such as antibiotics
- Associated with conditions such as pneumonia, sarcoidosis, lupus, etc.
- Can be idiopathic
Epidemiology:
- Typically presents after age 50
- More common in males
Presentation:
- Shortness of breath
- Cough
- Weight loss
- Fatigue
- Clubbing of the fingers and/or toes
Prognosis:
- Symptoms of pulmonary fibrosis can be managed
- Survival is about 2-3 years after diagnosis
