Aspergilloma CT Findings

• Solid spherical lesion(s) often with cavity
• “Halo” sign
• Inflammatory reaction of cavity wall
• Lesions separated from the cavity wall by “air crescent sign”

Etiology:

• Immunocompromised patients

Epidemiology:

• Prevalence in Africa, the western Pacific, and SE Asia

Presentation:

• Asymptomatic
• Worse cases may have hemoptysis, shortness of breath, wheezing, and fatigue

Prognosis:

• Recorded survival rate varies greatly between studies
