Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM) CT Findings

  • Thin-walled pulmonary cysts (<3 mm) that are well-defined and circumscribed
  • Pneumothorax in about half of patients
  • May have unilateral or bilateral chylous pleural effusion

  • Usually affects women
  • Diagnosed 4th-5th decade of life

Presentation:

  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest pain
  • Cough

Prognosis:

  • 10 year survival rate is higher than 90%
