Parathyroid Adenoma CT Findings
- Attenuation in comparison to the normal thyroid gland varies with CT phase. The adenoma has lower attenuation on non-contrast CT and contrast-enhanced venous phase images, but higher attenuation on contrast-enhanced arterial phase images.
- A range of locations from near the thyroid to the anterior of middle mediastinum
- May also have cystic foci, fat deposition, calcification
- Polar vessel may be present
