Bronchogenic Cyst CT Findings
- Rounded structures with water or soft tissue density
- Well defined and homogenous
- Unilocular, rounded or spherical
- Smooth margins
- Most commonly found in mediastinum
- Usually < 10cm
- Low attenuation (0-10 HU)
- Can compress surrounding structures
Other Information About Bronchogenic Cysts
Etiology:
- Unknown
Epidemiology:
- Slight prevalence in males
- Diagnosed at 3rd-4th decade of life
Presentation:
- Usually asymptomatic
Prognosis:
- Usually treated with surgical resection or drainage depending on size and location
