Adrenal Adenoma CT Findings

  • Typically well defined
  • Often homogeneous in attenuation
  • Average diameter 2–2.5 cm
  • Adenomas can be over 4 cm in size
  • Benign adenoma generally under 10 HU on non-contrast CT

Etiology:

  • Unknown

Epidemiology:

  • Mean age at diagnosis is 57

Presentation:

  • Asymptomatic
  • Incidental finding in most cases
  • Patients may have functioning tumors

Prognosis:

  • AAs are benign
  • With increased size, AAs may bleed
