Invasive Aspergillosis CT Findings
- Pulmonary nodule with “halo sign”
- Well-circumscribed lesions
- Ground-glass gray attenuation
- Wedge-shaped pleural consolidation
- Air crescent sign
- Centrilobular nodules
- Nodular areas of increased attenuation (“tree-in-bud”)

Other Information About Invasive Aspergillosis
Etiology:
- Aspergillosis is caused by a mold
- Invasive aspergillosis is when the infection spreads to the blood system other organs
Epidemiology:
- Patients with a weakened immune system are most susceptible to invasive aspergillosis
- Patients without pre-existing medical conditions are unlikely to get invasive aspergillosis
Presentation:
- Cough
- Hemoptysis
- Chest pain
- Shortness of breath
- Fever
Prognosis:
- Mortality rate ranges around 35-70%
