Pulmonary Hemorrhage CT Findings
- Bilateral patchy perihilar infiltrates
- Diffuse bilateral alveolar opacification
- Ground glass centrilobular nodules
- Filling defect in major airways (clot) can occur
- Pulmonary hemorrhage may be of higher CT attenuation than a routine infiltrate
Other Information About Pulmonary Hemorrhage
Etiology:
- Lung disease such as tuberculosis, bronchiectasis, lung cancer, etc.
Epidemiology:
- More common in smokers
Presentation:
- Blood in cough or vomit
Prognosis:
- Mild and moderate pulmonary hemorrhage has a better prognosis
- Severe hemorrhage has a higher mortality rate
