Von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) CT Findings
- Multiple renal cysts
- Vascular mass or enhancing mural nodule
- Bilateral ccRCCs may develop
Other Information About Von Hippel-Lindau (VHL)
Etiology:
- Genetic mutation
- May be inherited genetically
Epidemiology:
- Rare
- Can present at any age
Presentation:
- VHL does not cause symptoms by itself but can cause tumors which cause a variety of symptoms, depending on the tumor
- Common tumors include RCC, hemangioblastoma, pancreatic lesions and pheochromocytomas
Prognosis:
- Patients with VHL have an increased risk of tumors both benign and malignant
