  • Variable in size
  • Single to multiple in number
  • May be partially or totally calcified
  • May be a result of atherosclerosis, IVDA, vasculitis, trauma

Other Information About Renal Artery Aneurysm

Etiology:

  • Associated with renal cancer, and fibromuscular and vascular diseases

Epidemiology:

  • Rare
  • More common in females
  • Usually appear in 7th decade of life

Presentation:

  • Generally asymptomatic
  • Hypertension

Prognosis:

  • Small aneurysms simply need to be watched
  • Larger aneurysms at risk of rupture may require surgery
