End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) CT Findings
- Reduced renal length and volume
- Reduced cortical thickness
- Enhancement is decreased or absent
- Multiple small cysts are common in ESRD

Etiology:
- Linked to diabetes and hypertension
- Other kidney diseases can cause ESRD
Epidemiology:
- Can occur at any age but most commonly over age 65
- More common in men
Presentation:
- Changes in urination habits
- Difficult to control hypertension
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Loss of appetite
- Fatigue
- Shortness of breath
- Swelling of legs, feet and ankles
- Difficulty sleeping
- Muscle cramps
- Itching
Prognosis:
- ESRD has no cure but can be managed with treatment
