Renal Artery Dissection CT Findings
- Often unilateral but can be bilateral
- May have stenosis
- Areas of infarction in kidney may occur
- Intramural hematoma

Etiology:
- Aortic dissection
- Abdominal trauma
- Angioplasty
- Multiple diseases and syndromes are associated with RAD
Epidemiology:
- Rare
- 4x more common in males
- Typically presents in the 4th-6th decades of life
Presentation:
- Abdominal or flank pain
- Hypertension
- Nausea
Prognosis:
- Mortality rate is about 25%
