Bosniak 2 Cyst CT Findings
- Thin, non-enhancing wall
- Few thin septa
- Fine or slightly thickened calcifications
- No nodularity
- Complicated renal cysts < 3cm are classified as Bosniak 2
- Routine follow-up is typically needed
Other Information About Bosniak Cysts
Etiology:
- Usually occur after age 40
Epidemiology:
- Usually occur after age 40
- Males are more likely to have malignant cysts
Presentation:
- Usually asymptomatic
Prognosis:
- Usually does not require treatment as most are Bosniak 1
- Symptomatic cysts may need to be removed
