  • Complex renal masses
  • Irregularly shaped
  • Larger size (> 55mm)
  • Typically invades the renal vein and IVC
  • Necrosis common

Etiology:

  • Unknown

Epidemiology:

  • Rare
  • Typically presents in the 6th-8th decades of life

Presentation:

  • Typically asymptomatic
  • Hematuria
  • Flank pain
  • Palpable mass
  • Weight loss
  • Anemia
  • Hypertension

Prognosis:

  • The 5-year relative survival rate is about 39%
  • Median overall survival is about 25 months
  • Since renal sarcoma is so rare, the true prognosis is unknown
