  • Lytic lesion
  • Variable mass effect
  • Heterogeneous enhancement
  • Can be solitary or multiple
  • Can have soft tissue component
  • Most common in the axial skeleton and spine

Etiology:

  • Unknown

Epidemiology:

  • Typically presents in the 6th-7th decades of life
  • More common in males
  • More common in patients with African ancestry

Presentation:

  • Symptoms vary depending on the location of the tumor
  • Bone pain
  • Headache
  • Dysphagia
  • Dysphonia
  • Nasal obstruction

Prognosis:

  • The 5-year relative survival rate is about 50-80%
