Lipoma CT Findings
- Superficial lipomas are small and well circumscribed, while deeper lipomas are more variable in shape and size
- Low fat density
- Between -65 and -120 HU
- Many lesions have thin internal septa
- Larger lesions may have linear striations
- May be hard to differentiate lipoma from liposarcoma

Etiology:
- Unknown
- May be genetic
Epidemiology:
- Occurs between 40-60 years of age
Presentation:
- Small palpable mass
- Mass can be moved with slight pressure
- Usually not painful
Prognosis:
- Lipomas are benign
