Etiology:

  • Unknown
  • May be associated with Ollier’s disease, Maffucci’s syndrome, enchondroma and multiple hereditary exotoses

Epidemiology:

  • Typically affects middle aged and older patients

Presentation:

  • Bone pain
  • Palpable mass
  • Joint stiffness and/or swelling

Prognosis:

  • The relative 5-year survival rates are:
    • Localized: 91%
    • Regional: 76%
    • Distant: 17%
    • All SEER stages combined: 79%
