Osteoma CT Findings
- Small spherical tumor
- Measures < 2cm, usually <1cm
- Intracortical atypical bone (“nidus”)
- The nidus has low density and high density zones
- Can involve any bone

Etiology:
- Unknown
Epidemiology:
- Male to female ratio 3:1
- Most commonly present between ages 5-25
Presentation:
- Dull, achy pain
- Pain is usually nocturnal
- Bone deformity like scoliosis or bowed long bones
- Muscle atrophy
- Joint stiffness
- Limping
Prognosis:
- Osteomas are benign
- Pain can be managed with pain medication
- More serious cases may require surgery
