Non-Ossifying Fibroma CT Findings

  • Eccentric lesion
  • Elongated shape
  • Sclerotic border
  • Interrupted cortex
  • Typically present in the metaphysis of long bones

Etiology:

  • Unknown

Epidemiology:

  • Very common (present in up to 40% of children)
  • More common in males
  • Typically presents between ages 10-15

Presentation:

  • Typically asymptomatic

Prognosis:

  • Non-ossifying fibromas are benign
  • Non-ossifying fibromas usually resolve on their own as the patient gets older
