Degenerative Joint Disease (DJD)/Osteoarthritis CT Findings
- Asymmetric narrowing of joint space
- May grow osteophytes or cysts
- Also described as osteoarthritis

Etiology:
- Unknown
- Linked to trauma, other forms of arthritis, gout, obesity, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes
Epidemiology:
- Very common
- Typically presents after age 55
Presentation:
- May be asymptomatic
- Joint paint
- Joint stiffness
- Joint swelling
- Joint weakness
- Decreased range of motion
Prognosis:
- There is no treatment for degenerative joint disease but symptoms can be managed
