Hepatic Sarcoidosis CT Findings
- Hepatomegaly
- Homogeneous enhancement of the parenchyma
- May have low-density intrahepatic septa
- Some cases have hypodense masses or focal nodules
- Can look similar to lymphoma
Other Information About Hepatic Sarcoidosis
Etiology:
- Unknown
- May be associated with PEG-IFN
Epidemiology:
- More common in people of African ancestry
Presentation:
- Typically asymptomatic
- Fever
- Fatigue
- RUQ pain
- Arthralgia
Prognosis:
- Hepatic sarcoidosis can usually be watched or managed
- HS can be premalignant in a very small percentage of cases
