Fatty Liver Disease CT Findings
- Hypoattenuating liver
- Bold, intrahepatic vessels especially on contrast CT
- Liver < 48 HU
- Liver minus spleen difference of < -10 HU
Other Information About Fatty Liver Disease
Etiology:
- Obesity
- Type 2 diabetes
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol
- Smoking
Epidemiology:
- More common in males
- Most common over the age of 50
- Can occur in children and young adults
Presentation:
- Asymptomatic
Prognosis:
- Fatty Liver Disease is benign but may lead to serious complications
- FLD has no cure but can be managed
