Fibrolamellar Hepatoma CT Findings
- Large, well defined heterogeneous lesions (>7cm)
- May have lobulated outline or may be ill defined
- Hypoattenuating but may be hypervascular
- Roughly half have calcification
- Often has central stellate scar
Other Information About Fibrolamellar Hepatoma
Etiology:
- Unknown
Epidemiology:
- Very rare
- Typically found in patients between adolescence and age 40
- More common in patients with European ancestry
- Slightly more common in males
Presentation:
- Generally asymptomatic
- Abdominal pain
- Weight loss
- Malaise
Prognosis:
- Fibrolamellar hepatoma can be resected in its early stages
- General prognosis is unknown because incidence is so rare
