Biliary Cystadenocarcinoma CT Findings
- Solitary, multilocular cystic lesion
- Thick, coarse calcifications
- Mural nodule
- Irregular cyst wall thickness
- Can be confused with biliary cystadenoma on CT
Other Information About Biliary Cystadenocarcinoma
Etiology:
- Believed to arise from biliary cystadenoma
- Also believed to be spontaneous
Epidemiology:
- Rare
- Typically presents in the 7th-8th decades of life
- Equally common in both males and females
Presentation:
- Abdominal pain
- Dyspepsia
- Anorexia
- Nausea and/or vomiting
Prognosis:
- The true prognosis is unknown
- The 5-year relative survival rate may range from 35-70%
