Regenerative Nodules CT Findings

  • Well-defined, enlarged area of the liver parenchyma
  • Micronodular (< 3mm) or macronodular (> 3mm)
  • Lesions are commonly vascular
  • Typically not visible on unenhanced CT
  • Can simulate tumors including hepatoma

Etiology:

  • Budd-Chiari Syndrome
  • Hepatic vascular disorders

Epidemiology:

  • More prevalent in patients over 60 years of age

Presentation:

  • Generally asymptomatic

Prognosis:

  • The prognosis varies depending on the cause of the generative nodules
  • Nodules alone can be managed
