Cavernous Hemangioma CT Findings
- Large vascular spaces
- Central cavernous zone
- Well defined outlines
- < 3 cm diameter but can be over 10cm
- Classic peripheral puddling on CT
Other Information About Cavernous Hemangioma
Etiology:
- Unknown
Epidemiology:
- More common in females
- Patients usually present at age 30-50
Presentation:
- Cavernous hemangiomas may cause RUQ pain, bloating, loss of appetite, nausea, and vomiting
Prognosis:
- Cavernous hemangiomas may need to be surgically removed if they are causing symptoms
