Hepatic Angiosarcoma CT Findings
- Usually a large solitary mass or multifocal lesions
- Hypoattenuating mass
- Heterogeneous enhancement in flame-shape pattern
Other Information About Hepatic Angiosarcoma
Etiology:
- Mostly unknown
- Radiation therapy
- Lymphedema
- Exposure to chemicals such as arsenic or vinyl chloride
- Associated with Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome, Maffucci syndrome, and neurofibromatosis
Epidemiology:
- Very rare
- 3:1 male to female ratio
- Typically presents at age 60-70
Presentation:
- Initially asymptomatic
- Abdominal pain
- Weight loss
- Bloating
- Jaundice
- Fatigue
Prognosis:
- Very poor
- 2-year survival rate is only 3%
