Chromophobe Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) CT Findings

  • Well-circumscribed mass
  • Smooth or lobular contours
  • Mostly solid
  • Can be homogeneous or heterogeneous
  • Isoattenuating to slightly hyperattenuating
  • Moderate enhancement less than ccRCC but more than Papillary RCC

Chromophobe RCC CT Findings

Etiology:

  • Unknown

Epidemiology:

  • Typically presents in the 6th decade of life but can present at any age

Presentation:

  • Typically asymptomatic and found incidentally

Prognosis:

  • The 5-year relative survival rate for chromophobe RCC is over 95%
