  • Usually a solitary carpet lesion
  • Sessile filling defect with irregular mucosal pattern
  • 10+ lobules
  • Usually > 3cm, may grow as large as 15cm

Etiology:

  • Unknown

Epidemiology:

  • Typically presents after age 50 with colorectal cancer screening
  • True epidemiology is unknown

Presentation:

  • Typically asymptomatic and discovered incidentally at colonoscopy

Prognosis:

  • Villous adenomas are benign but premalignant
