Small Bowel Lipoma CT Findings
- Round, oval or lobulated tumor arising in the submucosa
- Smooth and homogeneous
- Well-circumscribed intraluminal filling defect
- Thinly encapsulated
- Shape of the mass changes and creates “squeeze sign”
- May also change their location
- Lipid attenuation (-120 to -40 HU)
- Can lead to an intussusception

- Unknown
Epidemiology:
- Rare
- Usually presents in 6th-7th decades of life
Presentation:
- Small bowel lipoma is usually asymptomatic
- Abdominal pain
- GI hemorrhage
Prognosis:
- Lipomas are benign
