Enteritis CT Findings
- Diffuse bowel wall thickening
- Thickened and blurred mucosal folds
- Lymphadenopathy
Other Information About Enteritis
Etiology:
- Infectious Enteritis is caused by infection (food poisoning)
- Inflammatory Enteritis is caused by autoimmune diseases such as Crohn’s disease and Celiac disease
- Radiation enteritis is due to radiation therapy or chemotherapy
- Ischemic Enteritis is caused by ischemia (see more)
Epidemiology:
- Enteritis can affect patients of any age
Presentation:
- Abdominal pain
- Fever
- Nausea and/or vomiting
- Loss of appetite
- Diarrhea
Prognosis:
- Treatment depends on the cause of the enteritis, but it can be cured in most cases
