Small Bowel Lymphoma CT Findings
- Single or multiple rounded homogeneous masses
- Involves the submucosa and muscularis layers
- Infiltrative pattern
- Mass-like bowel wall thickening
- Preservation of the lumen
- Small bowel loops may be displaced
- Mesentery may be involved
Other Information About Small Bowel Lymphoma
Etiology:
- Unknown
Epidemiology:
- Primary SB lymphoma is rare
- Typically presents in the 6th decade of life
Presentation:
- Abdominal pain
- Weight loss
- Nausea and/or vomiting
- Hematochezia
Prognosis:
- Since SB lymphoma is rare, the survival rate is unknown
- Several studies suggest the overall 5-year relative survival rate after treatment is upwards of 50%
