Gastric Emphysema (Pneumatosis) CT Findings

• Accumulation of non-dependent air in the gastric wall
• Adjacent fat stranding
• Secondary to injury of the stomach mucosa
• Presents similarly to emphysematous gastritis but patients experience no or mild symptoms
• Evidence of ischemia
