Gastric Antral Vascular Ectasis (GAVE) CT Findings
- Also known as “Watermelon Stomach”
- Thickened antral wall
- Prominent mucosal folds extending from the pylonic channel
- Vascular
- Polypoid

Other Information About GAVE (Watermelon Stomach)
Etiology:
- Unknown
- Associated with heterogeneous conditions, particularly cirrhosis
Epidemiology:
- Rare
- Typically presents in the 6th-8th decades of life
- More common in females
Presentation:
- Abdominal pain
- Anemia
- Upper GI bleed
Prognosis:
- The symptoms of GAVE can be managed depending on their severity
