Polypoid Tumor CT Findings
- Dimpling (puckering of GI tract’s outer wall)
- Vessel invagination (folded back on itself)
- Dimpling > 3.5mm can indicate advanced cancer
Other Information About Polypoid Tumors
Etiology:
- Chronic gastritis or other gastric infection (H. pylori)
- Extended PPI use
- Familial history
Epidemiology:
- Most commonly present in middle aged patients
Presentation:
- Most polypoid tumors are asymptomatic and discovered incidentally
Prognosis:
- Polypoid tumors are benign but premalignant
