Emphysematous Gastritis CT Findings
- Wall or fold thickening
- Intramural gas, venous gas
- Gastric distension
- Air in hepatic venous system indicates EG
- Presents similarly to Gastric Emphysema but patients present with severe symptoms such as abdominal pain and GI bleed

Etiology:
- Bacteria
- Gastric surgery and injury, ulcers, infection, and excessive alcohol use increase the risk of EG
Epidemiology:
- Rare
Presentation:
- Abdominal pain
- Tachycardia
- Fever
- Nausea and/or vomiting
- Sepsis
- Shock
Prognosis:
- Mortality rate is between 55-80%
