Groove Pancreatitis CT Findings
- Soft tissue thickening within pancreaticoduodenal groove
- Small cystic lesions along medial duodenal wall
- Pancreatic head is commonly involved and the duodenum is almost always involved
Other Information About Groove Pancreatitis
Etiology:
- Excessive alcohol use
Epidemiology:
- Most common during 5th and 6th decades of life
- Male predominance
Presentation:
- Abdominal pain
- Nausea and/or vomiting (particularly postprandial)
- Weight loss
Prognosis:
- GP can be managed with treatment
