Ulcerative Colitis CT Findings
- Involves the large bowel, usually begins in the rectum
- Extensive ulceration and diffuse inflammation of the mucosa
- May have a granular mucosal pattern, mural thickening, luminal narrowing
- Rectal narrowing and widening of presacral space indicate chronic UC

Epidemiology:
- Bimodal: usually diagnosed at age 15-30 and 50-70
Presentation:
- Bloody diarrhea
Prognosis:
- Chronic disease
- Generally no increase in mortality
