- Abscess
- Small bowel ileus
- Peritonitis
- Appendicolith

Other Information About Perforated Appendix
Etiology:
- Untreated appendicitis
Epidemiology:
- Appendicitis is more common in patients under 20 years of age
- Anyone who has untreated appendicitis is susceptible to perforation
Presentation:
- Abdominal pain, particularly around the navel
- Abdominal distension
- Nausea and/or vomiting
- Bowel obstruction
Prognosis:
- Perforated appendix is a medical emergency
