Splenic Epithelial Cyst CT Findings

• Smooth, well defined margins
• Unilocular
• Thin walled lesions
• Lesions contain fluid

Etiology:

• Most are related to parasitic diseases
• Can also be congenital

Epidemiology:

• Rare

Presentation:

• Typically asymptomatic
• Larger cysts can cause LUQ pain

Prognosis:

• Splenic epithelial cysts are benign but may be resected if they cause symptoms or are at risk of rupturing
