  • Cystic mass
  • May contain intratumoral fat with negative attenuation
  • Usually unilateral but can be bilateral
  • Calcification is common

Etiology:

  • Unknown
  • Teratomas form from germ cells

Epidemiology:

  • Most common in females under 45 years of age

Presentation:

  • May be asymptomatic
  • Most common symptom is abdominal/pelvic pain

Prognosis:

  • Teratomas are usually benign
