Ovarian Teratoma (Dermoid) CT Findings
- Cystic mass
- May contain intratumoral fat with negative attenuation
- Usually unilateral but can be bilateral
- Calcification is common
Other Information About Ovarian Teratoma (Dermoid)
Etiology:
- Unknown
- Teratomas form from germ cells
Epidemiology:
- Most common in females under 45 years of age
Presentation:
- May be asymptomatic
- Most common symptom is abdominal/pelvic pain
Prognosis:
- Teratomas are usually benign
