Pelvic Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) CT Findings

  • Usually extra-uterine, more common in females
  • Typically supplied by all pelvic arteries
  • Can be very large

Etiology:

  • Trauma
  • Tumor
  • May be congenital

Epidemiology:

  • Rare
  • More common in males

Presentation:

  • May be asymptomatic
  • Palpable mass
  • Abdominal and/or pelvic pain
  • Hematuria
  • Hemospermia
  • Impotence
  • Dysuria

Prognosis:

  • Pelvic AVM can be treated
  • Due to its rarity, the true prognosis of pelvic AVM is unknown
