- Soft tissue thickening
- Inflammation
- Fascial air
- Muscle or fascial edema
- Advanced cases have subcutaneous emphysema along the fascial planes

Other Information About Fournier Gangrene
Etiology:
- Caused by bacteria
- Chronic alcohol use
- Tobacco use
- Associated with diabetes and HIV
Epidemiology:
- Rare
- 10x more common in males
- Typically presents after age 50
Presentation:
- Genital pain
- Discoloration
- Tenderness
- Swelling
- Crepitus
Prognosis:
- The mortality rate can be as high as 20-40% but is typically dependent on comorbidities or complications
