Etiology:
- Linked with coronary artery disease
Epidemiology:
- Generally affects patients > 45-50 years of age
- More common in men
Presentation:
- Chest pain
- Shortness of breath
- Heart palpitations
- Upper extremity pain
- Dizziness
Prognosis:
- Mortality rate of 5-30% for the first myocardial infarction
- Rate increases with each subsequent MI
