Adrenal Hemangioma CT Findings

  • Most are unilateral
  • Usually 2-3cm diameter but can reach over 30cm
  • Heterogeneous
  • Nodular enhancement
  • May have punctate calcification or peripheral fat islands

Etiology:

  • Unknown

Epidemiology:

  • Very rare
  • 6th-7th decades of life
  • More common in females

Presentation:

  • Usually detected incidentally

Prognosis:

  • Hemangiomas are benign with no malignant potential
  • Occasionally large hemangiomas can present with spontaneous bleed
