CASE NUMBER 324
Diagnosis

Juvenile Angiofibroma

Note
The MRI images of the face demonstrate a large avidly enhancing mass expanding the left pterygopalatine fossa and sphenopalatine foramen with extension into the left sphenoid sinus, posterior left nasal cavity, left nasopharynx, and left retromaxillozygomatic space with bowing of the posterior wall of the left maxillary sinus anteromedially. This location and pattern of spread in a young adult or teenager is typical of Juvenile Angiofibroma. These are markedly vascular lesions and can present with life-threatening epistaxis. Treatment is surgical and usually preceded by embolization.
