CN V3 Schwannoma
Note
These images show a T1 isointense, T2 Hyperintense, enhancing mass in the left masticator space medial to the left medial pterygoid muscle extending to the skull base with expansion of the foramen ovale. This mass is consistent with a schwannoma of the mandibular division of the trigeminal nerve with extension to the masticator nerve. The differential in this case may include secondary perineural spread of a masticator space malignancy. In this patient with neurofibromatosis type II and multiple meningiomas and bilateral schwannomas, the diagnosis is clear.
