Diagnosis
Optic neuritis.
Note
Post-contrast T1 imaging of the orbits demonstrates abnormal enhancement of the left optic nerve. On corresponding T2 images, there is abnormal T2 signal within the left optic nerve that can be appreciated extending posteriorly to just beyond the optic nerve origin at the optic chiasm. These findings are consistent with clinically suspected optic neuritis.
