CASE NUMBER 36
Diagnosis

Osteoid Osteoma Tibia on X-ray

Note
Leg pain. X-rays of the lower extremity demonstrate an osteoid osteoma of the tibia. Notice the lucent nidus (arrows). There is also adjacent cortical thickening. The cortical thickening can be seen in stress fractures and in osteomyelitis. However, the lucent nidus in addition to the cortical thickening is highly suggestive of osteoid osteoma.
