CASE NUMBER 383
Diagnosis

Orbital Hemangioma

Note
There is a T1 hypointense, minimally T2 hyperintense ovoid intraconal mass in the medial aspect of the right orbit. Contrast was not administered for this exam, but subsequent studies showed avid enhancement. This lesion is compatible with an orbital hemangioma. These lesions represent cavernous venous malformations which have a pseudocapsule. They are usually intraconal as seen here and more commonly in the lateral orbit. It is the most common adult orbital mass lesion.
